FBI Unraveling – Agency Falls Apart Amid Corruption Claims
(LibertySociety.com) – On August 30, former US Attorney Brett Tolman appeared on Fox News to talk about recent events with the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ), which he claims show the organizations “unraveling.” The lawyer believes the agencies are performing some type of “damage control” so they can claim proactive actions against politicization accusations.
On August 26, the FBI escorted Agent Timothy Thibault out of his office in Washington, DC, after he tendered his resignation. The former official was one of the agents previously investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop. A month ago, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) wrote a letter to the FBI and the DOJ accusing Thibault of misconduct in reviewing the Biden case, quashing the probe without a “valid reason.”

On August 30, Attorney General Merrick Garland cracked down on non-career employees within the DOJ. He released a memo reminding staff members they weren’t allowed to attend “partisan political activities” and added new restrictions. This policy change comes on the heels of recent corruption allegations against the department and the FBI. Tolman said these “sudden moves” are likely so the organizations can say they addressed the alleged politicization.
What do you think of the former prosecutor’s assessment? Why do you think the FBI and DOJ are making these sudden changes?
