Elon Musk Named Secretary of Cost-Cutting by Trump

(LibertySociety.com) – In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump announced that if he wins the upcoming election, he plans to appoint business mogul Elon Musk as the “Secretary of Cost-Cutting” in his administration. Trump made the remarks during an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, when asked about his plans for reducing government agencies.

Trump praised Musk for his business acumen, calling him a “great business guy” and a master of cutting costs. “You think of him for science and rockets, and every time he’s telling me about a new screw that was developed,” Trump said, referring to Musk’s attention to detail and innovation. He explained that while people often focus on Musk’s contributions to technology and space exploration, they may overlook his ability to streamline operations and reduce expenses.

Trump explained that Musk would not hold a traditional cabinet position, as the Tesla and SpaceX CEO isn’t interested in being part of the formal cabinet. Instead, Trump proposed creating a new role for him focused solely on cost-cutting. “He wants to be in charge of cost-cutting,” Trump said. “We’ll have a new position, Secretary of Cost-Cutting, okay? Elon wants to do that.”

During the interview, Trump also mentioned Musk’s ambitious plans for space exploration, stating that Musk has promised to land on Mars before the end of Trump’s next term if he is re-elected. This would, according to Trump, happen “long before” China or Russia could achieve such a feat.

The idea of Musk joining Trump’s administration in this unique capacity reflects both men’s shared focus on efficiency and innovation, and it has already sparked conversation about what this potential partnership could mean for government operations.
