According to a source close to DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, the couple has put their luxurious Montecito, California home up for sale and relocated to the Cotswolds, a picturesque region in south-central England. The source revealed that Trump’s election was a major factor in their decision to leave.
Reports indicate that the couple is eager for a fresh start, and not just because of politics. DeGeneres has faced tough times recently, including a major backlash in 2022 over allegations of toxic behavior behind the scenes of her long-running talk show. These controversies led to the show’s cancellation and a significant hit to her reputation.
While DeGeneres hasn’t spoken publicly about her move, the source claims that she and Portia plan to stay in England permanently. Their Montecito mansion, located just north of Los Angeles, is either already on the market or soon will be.
