(LibertySociety.com) – A December 2021 poll conducted by Reuters shows 54% of Republicans surveyed would support former President Donald Trump’s nomination to represent the Right in another bid for the White House in 2024. The poll also shows support for Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) at a distant 11%, with 14% saying they aren’t sure who they would support.
Trump has yet to announce his plans to run in the next general election but plans to let America know for sure after the 2022 mid-terms. Right now, he’s “thinking about it.”
If President Joe Biden decides to run for re-election, that could mean a repeat head-to-head for the seat in the oval office.

Should Biden decide not to run again, Democrats who may take their shot at the presidency include Vice President Kamala Harris, who holds a 96% familiarity rating, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, with 76% familiarity, according to the poll.
Although Republicans seem to favor Trump running for the presidency again, the survey across both parties and Independents shows 56% overall have an unfavorable view of the previous leader. On the other hand, nearly half of those polled held the current president in a negative light.
Although it appears the majority of Republicans support Trump retaking the White House, the victor in another matchup with Biden seems to be a toss-up.
