(LibertySociety.com) – The 2022 midterms are a little more than a year away. Republicans hope to take back the majority in Congress, and former President Donald Trump has said he plans to help them do just that. He even accepted an invitation to speak at a major event.
On Monday, May 17, North Carolina GOP Chairman Michael Whatley announced Trump will speak at the state convention in June. According to Liz Polen, a spokeswoman for the state party, the former president’s speech will be private. The media will not be allowed in and won’t be able to watch it any other way.

Whatley said that Trump has done great things for the state, including “rebuilding the military, standing strong against China and unleashing the American Economy.” The party is excited to have him show up in support of the party. As for the former president, he has said he intends to help the GOP win big next year and will decide whether he’s running for president again after the midterm elections are over.
