Donald Trump Indicted and Arraigned on Multiple Charges

(LibertySociety.com) – Rumors swirled about the indictment of former President Donald Trump last week, with news outlets confirming on June 8 that he had been formally charged on 37 counts related to his handling of classified documents. Trump initially denied in a Truth Social post that he was informed of a pending indictment, but the following day, the media exploded with the news.

New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman sought comment from the 45th President when Just the News reporter John Solomon broke a story regarding the matter on June 7. Trump outright denied to Haberman at the time that he was told he would soon be indicted, stating, “It’s not true,” and adding that he had no direct contact with the attorneys who are pursuing the investigation. Solomon also reported that the Trump legal team had been preparing for battle for many months, confident that they will ultimately be victorious. The former President maintains that he did nothing wrong.

The former President’s lawyers met with Special Counsel Jack Smith on June 5th, 2023, reportedly asking for the investigation to be shut down just two weeks after sending a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland requesting a meeting, blasting the DOJ for its unfair treatment. The letter also took a swipe at the Biden family, comparing the way their actions are being handled by the DOJ, including the investigation into Hunter Biden and President Biden’s own document scandal.

After his indictment last week, Trump was arraigned in court on the 37 charges on June 13. According to reports, he pleaded not guilty.
