Don Lemon Claims Black Voters Support Trump, Overlook Harris

(LibertySociety.com) – Former CNN host Don Lemon shared some interesting thoughts on MSNBC’s “Inside” about the upcoming election and how Black voters view former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Lemon explained that he was surprised to hear from so many Black voters who said they were going to support Trump, despite the usual belief that he doesn’t have much support from minority groups.

Lemon said, “I wasn’t expecting to hear so many people, especially Black men and women, say they were voting for Donald Trump. I don’t know how accurate the polls are when it comes to who is supporting who, but it was eye-opening.”

He went on to talk about how some voters said they liked Trump because they felt he helped them financially. “A lot of Black men told me they were backing Trump because he gave them a stimulus check during the pandemic,” Lemon explained. “They remembered that $1,200 check with Trump’s name on it. But they didn’t seem to recall that President Biden gave out stimulus checks too. Biden’s name just wasn’t printed on the check, so they forgot it wasn’t just Trump’s doing.”

Lemon pointed out that this was a smart move on Trump’s part, adding, “It’s like how he puts his name on buildings that he doesn’t even own. People think he’s richer or more generous than he really is.”

Host Jen Psaki asked Lemon what people thought of Kamala Harris. Lemon’s answer was telling. He explained that a lot of voters didn’t even know who Harris was, especially in places like Ohio, Indiana, and the Jersey Shore. He mentioned that Harris seems to have a visibility problem and might need to reintroduce herself to the public.

For many, Trump still appears as the candidate who’s better for the economy, especially in Black communities. Lemon concluded by saying that a lot of voters believe Trump brought money to their communities and, for some reason, they think he’s “on their side
