(LibertySociety.com) – During Donald Trump’s rally in Coachella, California, on Saturday, actor Dennis Quaid made a passionate speech urging Americans to “pick a side” in the upcoming presidential election. Quaid, who recently starred as Ronald Reagan in a film about the 40th president, drew parallels between the 1980 election and the current political landscape.
Quaid highlighted issues such as law and order, border security, and the Constitution, asking whether America would prioritize these values or “TikTok and wide open borders.” He compared the challenges of inflation and national decline faced during Reagan’s era to those today, crediting Reagan with inspiring the nation to overcome adversity. “The same with President Trump,” Quaid said, calling Trump his favorite president of the 21st Century.
In his portrayal of Reagan, Quaid’s film received high audience approval, reflecting his personal admiration for the former president. The actor also expressed support for Trump, saying that while he “cringed” at some of Trump’s comments, he believed the former president’s “heart was in the right place.” Quaid has voiced concerns about the “weaponization of the justice system” and reaffirmed his decision to vote for Trump in the 2024 election.
