Amy Klobuchar Faces Backlash for Suggesting Hurricanes Are Preventable

( – On September 27, Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) appeared on an MSNBC morning show where she said it’s essential for Democrats to win in November. She mentioned the Left’s progress with climate change legislation while reminding watchers of Hurricane Ian bearing down on Florida. Many Americans responded swiftly to her comments, wondering if she thinks Liberals can alter regular weather patterns.

June through November every year marks hurricane season for millions of Americans on every coast of the United States. Although the number of such storms in the Atlantic has doubled over the last 20 years, the Atlantic Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory has records of hurricanes dating back to 1494.

Since the storms have been a regular occurrence for quite some time, many people took to Twitter to respond to Klobuchar’s words. One user made fun of the Minnesota lawmaker, saying if you vote for her, she’ll change the weather.

Florida’s Rapid Response Director Christina Pushaw also chimed in with a tongue-in-cheek remark. She stated the Inflation Reduction Act failed to “stop inflation,” but the lawmaker wants Americans to believe it will end hurricanes.

What do you think about Klobuchar’s comment? Do you believe any political policy can stop hurricanes from reaching US shores?
