Key Bridge Linking Crimea to Russia BLOWN Up

(LibertySociety.com) – On October 8, unknown persons blew up the Kerch Strait Bridge, which connects Russia to Crimea — its only land route. Part of the structure collapsed, three people were killed, and multiple fuel tanks of a train were set ablaze as it was traveling across the bridge at the time.

No one has taken official responsibility for the act, but Ukrainian officials seemed happy about the incident, tweeting “sick burn” after the announcement. Mykhailo Podolyak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s advisor, responded by saying, “Crimea, the bridge, the beginning.”

Russia was using the structure to bring in supplies to fight the war in Ukraine, making the blast a slight problem for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Although those in the motherland said the bridge was protected, they blame saboteurs that reportedly sent a truck loaded with a bomb to the area for the purpose of damaging the route. Investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened and who is responsible. A Russian committee said it quickly identified the truck driver as someone who lived in the Kuban region of the country.

The next day, the Russian foreign ministry showed the road between Crimea and Russia was passable. A Crimean official insisted the supply chain will not be affected, saying workers are still trying to put out the fire.
