China Biowarfare Discovery Linked to US Funding, Journalists Find

( – There are many questions surrounding the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. Experts in America, including former President Donald Trump, believe a lab leak in China may have been the root cause. Now, the conservative publication The Gateway Pundit (TGP) alleges a link between the US government and Chinese biowarfare.

In a guest post written for TGP by Lawrence Sellin and Anna Chen and published on June 9, the journalists accused the US government of funding Chinese biowarfare programs both directly and indirectly. One direct way, they alleged, is through Professor Pei-Yong Shi, who works for the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he serves as the John Sealy Distinguished Chair in Innovations in Molecular Biology. He allegedly received funding from the federal government through a grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which Dr. Anthony Fauci oversees.

Pei-Yong Shi is also an honorary professor at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where some US intelligence sources speculate COVID-19 may have originated. Documents provided by TGP show the professor worked on “gain of function” experiments related to the Zika virus with scientists connected to the Chinese military.

TGP points out the troubling connections between the US government and Chinese military labs and calls for an official investigation. Certainly, if the report is correct and the US was this deeply involved with Chinese labs, the American people deserve some answers.
