(LibertySociety.com) – President Biden wrapped up his trip after the G20 Summit in India with a stop in Hanoi, Vietnam. He answered questions at a press conference from five media outlets, offering viral-worthy moments for social media users.
At one point during the presser, Biden began speaking about climate change, reflecting on the amount of attention the issue received at the summit. He began telling a story about what he believed to be a scene from a John Wayne movie where the Indians have some choice words for Union soldiers who they thought were being dishonest. He likened climate deniers to the Union soldiers, stating, “Well there’s a lot of lying dog-faced pony soldiers out there about global warming.” Biden has used the quote in the past, which also lit social media ablaze at the time.
Another viral moment sparked laughs and conversations about the 81-year-old’s stamina when he concluded an answer about his relationship with the President of China, Xi Jinping. “Tell you what, I don’t know about you, but I’m going to bed,” Biden proclaimed, with an exhausted expression on his face. While anyone would be fatigued after five days abroad with potential jet lag due to the time difference, mainstream media outlets could not help but draw attention to Biden’s advanced age. As of late, some outlets that are normally friendly to the Biden administration have been questioning his ability to serve another term, leaving many wondering if there is a plan to replace him on the 2024 presidential ballot.
President Biden returned to Washington D.C. intending to negotiate a continuing resolution with Congress to prevent a government shutdown at the end of the month. However, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced the launch of an official impeachment inquiry into the president, which opened a whole host of new problems on top of staving off a shutdown. McCarthy held a press conference to announce the inquiry, revealing that the chairs of the Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Committee will be leading the effort.
