(LibertySociety.com) – President Biden had a tough day on Thursday, June 1st, fortunately only breaking the internet rather than any bones. After giving a commencement speech at the United States Air Force Academy, the 46th President tripped over a sandbag on the stage and fell all the way to the ground in front of the packed audience of graduates and families. Video of the incident spread like wildfire on social media, with users offering various takes on why he fell, with some expressing their excitement to see the mainstream media’s reporting, reminiscing on their questioning of former President Donald Trump’s health after he walked slowly down a ramp following a commencement speech at West Point.
Biden’s day ended with another accident, as he bumped his forehead when exiting Marine One after arriving back at the White House. He declined to speak to reporters who were awaiting his arrival, only holding up his arms and yelling about the sandbag he tripped over. It is unclear if the matter will be brought up by the media again if they are given the chance to question him. Biden often criticized Trump’s health and physical fitness during his 2020 election campaign, with lines such as, “Watch how I run up ramps and he stumbles down ramps,” referring to the West Point ramp walk.
Trump has taken shots at Biden for his mental capabilities in the past. However, during a campaign event in Iowa, the 45th President brought up the June 1 incident, stating, “Well, I hope he wasn’t hurt,” adding how he feels about the importance of being careful when walking, referencing his West Point ramp descension. Biden has previously fallen going up the steps of Air Force One, with one particularly scary incident sparking speculation about his health when he tripped multiple times at Joint Base Andrews in March 2021.
