Biden-Harris Admin Allowed Terror Watchlist Migrants into US

(LibertySociety.com) – Since President Joe Biden took office, the so-called asylum seekers released into the United States included nearly 100 individuals with ties to terrorist organizations like ISIS, according to a new report.

The House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement released an interim report last week highlighting how the administration’s open borders policies have undermined US national security and placed Americans in danger.

According to an August 5 press release from the subcommittee, the key findings of the report include the startling revelation that at least 99 people on the terrorist watchlist were allowed entry into the United States since Joe Biden took office, including some who were granted asylum.

A total of 250 individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were encountered by Border Patrol agents at the southern border between FY2021 and FY 2023. Of those, the Biden Department of Homeland Security released 99 into the United States. At least 34 individuals on the terrorist watchlist are currently in US custody but have not been deported.

According to the report, the suspected terrorists were from 36 different countries, including countries with an active terrorist presence such as Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan.

In the fiscal year that began last October, Border Patrol has encountered thousands of so-called asylum seekers from countries that present a national security risk. In total, 2,134 Afghan nationals, 541 Iranians, 520 Syrians, and 3,104 Uzbek nationals have been encountered by Border Patrol nationwide. Another 33,347 Chinese nationals have also been encountered by Border Patrol nationwide.

The report also found that at least three individuals with ties to the Islamic State used Homeland Security’s CBP One app to arrive at an official port of entry where they were processed and released into the US.

A former senior official with Immigration and Customs Enforcement admitted to the subcommittee that the administration’s open borders policies made it more difficult to arrest and remove individuals who pose a national security threat to the United States, the report found.

According to the press release from the subcommittee, national security failings were not only found at the Department of Homeland Security but also within US immigration courts, with judges granting asylum and other relief to individuals on the terrorist watch list.
