(LibertySociety.com) – Hudson Joseph Meek, the actor known for his roles in Baby Driver and Found, has died at the age of 16 following a tragic accident in Alabama. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Meek sustained fatal injuries from blunt force trauma after falling from a moving vehicle late Thursday evening.
The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m., and the teen was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night, just two days after the accident. The Vestavia Hills Police Department has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Meek, who was surrounded by loved ones when he passed, was remembered by family and friends for his deep faith and the impact he had on those who knew him.
“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” read a statement posted on the young actor’s Instagram account. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
The Alabama native was best known for playing the younger version of the protagonist in the 2017 action film Baby Driver, directed by Edgar Wright. His performance in the film marked a breakthrough in his acting career, leading to additional roles, including a part in the reboot of MacGyver. Meek also starred in Found, where he continued to demonstrate his talent as a rising actor.
Meek’s family has announced a celebration of his life to take place on December 28, where friends and admirers are expected to gather to honor his memory. The tragic loss of the young actor has sent waves of sorrow through both his local community and the entertainment industry, where he was recognized as a promising star.
