AOC Bails on Promise to March With Amazon Workers

(LibertySociety.com) – Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who reportedly promised to march with Amazon workers in August 2021, bailed on them at the last minute and hasn’t marched with them to date. They were so distraught by the legislator’s inaction after years of supportive talk for better working conditions, they didn’t even bother inviting her to the march in December 2021.

AOC has never hidden her disdain for the company. In 2019, she called out Amazon for paying zero in federal taxes. Then, in 2020, she called Amazon a scam because almost half of its workers are allegedly on food stamps.

However, when push came to shove, and it was time to show up, she didn’t.

The lawmaker’s office told protest organizer Christian Smalls she received threats and couldn’t appear at the rallies in person. Sadly, soon afterward, Ocasio-Cortez attended the Met Gala, where she donned her famous Tax the Rich ball gown.

Meanwhile, Amazon workers are continuing to try and improve their working conditions by unionizing and probably could have used her support. The New York Post reported the protesters could no longer rely on AOC, claiming they don’t trust her anymore.

The congresswoman has yet to make a comment regarding the situation and how Amazon workers now allegedly feel about her.
