(LibertySociety.com) – As Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) continues to be in noticeable opposition with the majority of her party in Congress, many Democrats seem eager to remove her from her position.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) spoke on MSNBC on January 26, stating it would be the “easiest decision” ever to support someone like Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) instead of Sinema in the Senate when she comes up for re-election in 2024. The New York representative believes Arizona needs a “strong Democrat” to represent the people of the state and thinks the current senator is falling short of her duties.
In fact, Gallego mentioned many Democrats recently contacted him, trying to push him into taking Sinema’s place in the next election. They feel she isn’t towing the party line with her opposition to eliminating the filibuster and voting rights legislation. Frustrated Democrats may have simply reached their tipping point because Sinema won’t do what they expect her to do.

It appears Democrats want to shape the party more toward the center or left of center, ousting any legislator who gets in the way of their agenda. That includes voting out Sinema and, most likely, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) as soon as possible.
