Actor Posts Controversial Photo of Biden with Ex-KKK Member

(LibertySociety.com) – In his first interview since dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, President Joe Biden said his withdrawal from the nomination was to ensure that Donald Trump did not retake the White House in January.

Biden attacked Donald Trump as a threat to democracy, telling CBS News correspondent Robert Costa that he was not confident that there would be a peaceful transfer of power if Trump lost the election.

He claimed that Trump meant it when he said that there would be a “bloodbath” if he lost the election.

However, Trump’s comment was specific to a “bloodbath” for the US economy if the Democrats maintained the White House in November.

Biden reiterated that he decided to run for president in 2020 after Trump’s comments following the violence in Charlottesville in August 2017 when white supremacists fought with black-clad Antifa rioters.

Biden repeated his false claim that Trump described Nazis as “fine people” and said it was that comment that prompted his decision to run, adding that he believed that “democracy was literally at stake.”

Biden attempted to link Trump to the Ku Klux Klan, telling Robert Costa that under the Trump presidency, the Ku Klux Klan no longer had to hide under hoods because they knew “they had an ally” in the White House.

The president also attempted to link the rioters from January 6 to the Ku Klux Klan, noting that Trump has vowed to pardon those convicted of their roles in the Capitol riot.

He suggested that Donald Trump “stepped up” for the Ku Klux Klan.

After a clip of that segment was posted on X, many users, including actor James Woods, responded by posting the now-infamous picture of then-Senator Joe Biden posing with the late Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, a former member of the KKK.

After Senator Byrd died in 2010, then-Vice President Biden described the former Exalted Cyclops of a local KKK chapter, as one of his “mentors” who dedicated his life to “making life better” for the people of West Virginia.
