(LibertySociety.com) – On December 3, Fox News reported police in Wisconsin will charge a 10-year-old boy who allegedly shot and killed his mother as an adult for the crime. Although he initially confessed to accidentally shooting his mom, Quiana Mann, because she wouldn’t buy him a virtual reality headset on Amazon and woke him too early, he later admitted the murder was intentional. According to state law, that means prosecutors must present their case against the juvenile in adult court.

TMJ4 news asked local criminal defense Attorney Jonathan LaVoy if the boy would remain in adult court for the duration. The lawyer guessed the 10-year-old’s defense would likely seek a “reverse waiver” to try and move the case to juvenile court. LaVoy, however, is not involved in the matter at hand.
The boy’s older sister said her brother has always had anger management problems, and another family member said he has a history of cruelty to animals. Reports said the accused shooter had previously been to a therapist who was concerned and recommended the mother set up surveillance cameras around the house — they were unplugged prior to the incident. According to the child’s aunt, he showed no remorse following the shooting.
If found guilty, the defendant could spend the next 60 years behind bars.
